What Does MIP 67 Error Mean

With any type of device that you have, it is not uncommon for you to experience some errors. One of the most common error that could appear on your tablets and Android devices is MIP 67 error. What does MIP 67 error mean and why it occurs?
A mobile node authentication, MIP 67 occurs when the authentication fails. A notification could pop-up and would let you know that your device has failed to register with the Packet Data Service Node (PDSN). The PDSN is an important component of the carrier’s network. Hence, when you encounter MIP 67 error, this means your device will not be able to access your cellular services – mobile data.
This pop-up error could appear due to different multiple reasons. One of which is the incorrect provisioning. It could also occur when you activate a new device with same old sim card and phone number or you have no mobile service with your mobile data on.
How to fix MIP 67 Error
Method 1 – Turn off mobile data and turn it on again
- Turn off your mobile data
- Turn it on after a few seconds
- If it still does not work, remove and reinsert your SIM card
Method 2 – Restart your device
This method could actually solve a lot of issues and errors.
- Hold on the power of your device for a few seconds
- Tap restart button
Method 3 – Change the network mode
- Go to Settings
- Select connection
- Select mobile networks
- Click on network mode
- Select LTE/CDMA
- Go back to settings
- Select General
- Select System updates
- Select update profile
Method 4 – Update device’s preferred roaming list (PRL)
- Go to settings
- Tap software update
- Tap update PRL
- Tap ok
If that does not work, you could also try the following steps:
- Call *228
- Select 2 to update your phone’s PRL
Method 5 – Change mobile station ID or MSID
- Go to your dial app
- Dial ##847446#
- Tap edit
- Enter MSID provided by your support team
- Tap ok
- Wait until your device reboots and once done, you are good to go.
If you have tried all the methods provided above and nothing worked, you might have to try the following:
- Dial ##72786#. This will reboot your device
- Call customer support of your service provider
- Remove your SIM card that does not have any service plan.
- Check for service outage in your area.
- Do a factory data reset
- Use WiFi instead
