How to Get The Ancient Seed?
For you to be able to grow the Ancient Fruit, you would need to have an Ancient Seed Artifact which is from Ancient seed. This means, you would need to dig up artifact spots, fish for treasure chests and even defeat bug enemies in prehistoric Skill Cavern.
Keep in mind that the initial artifact for the Ancient Seed cannot be planted until you have donated it to Gunther which would give you a seed and a starter recipe. After acquiring the recipe from Gunther, you would now be able to plant the Ancient Seed on your farm and grow it into a fruit.
The Ancient Seed could also be bought from the Traveling Cart merchant for 100-1000g. Unfortunately, the chances of being able to purchase it are low.
How to Grow the Ancient Fruit?
- Get the seed and plant it. The ancient fruit could survive in spring, summer and fall. It could take about 28 days to mature and the yield is every 7 days once ripe.
- For you to get the maximum yield, it is best to plant it in spring and let it grow until fall. When winter comes, you could put it in the greenhouse to extend the lifespan of the plant.
- Water it daily and put scarecrows near your crops. This way, crows will not eat it.
- Invest in sprinklers early in the game
- Get iridium sprinkler as it has the ability to water 24 tiles around it.
To obtain the Ancient Seed, you would need to reach level 9 or you could complete dye bundle in the community center.
What To Do With Ancient Fruit?
As soon as your Ancient Fruit is fully grown, you could sell it and it could yield 550-1,120 gold. You could turn it into wine and increase its value. This means, you could get 1,620 – 4,620 gold. You could also craft jelly from this fruit which makes it a more profitable crop.
Sweet Gem Berry could be sold for more gold. Though this is the case, keep in mind that it is more difficult to maintain or to produce a single harvest.
