Pokemon BDSP: How to Use GWS
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are both very popular characters in Pokemon that now they feature their own version exclusive Pokemon. In fact, for you will have to trade in order for you to flush your Pokedex.
Once you are able to unlock the National Pokedex, you will be able to meet more or less 493 Pokemon in BDSP.
With Pokemon games, there are numerous players who would trade just to acquire Shiny Pokemon, Mystical Pokemon, Legendaries and other rare creatures. If you do not know how to do this, do not worry as you came to the right place. In fact, through this article, we shall provide you useful information which you could use as a guide in dealing and playing Pokemon.

Trading Etiquette
- Have something to offer that other players would want. Keep in mind that no one would want a simple Pokemon which could be acquired easily. If you want to trade with someone online, you will have to have a really good Pokemon with Max IVs
- Respond quickly while trading with people. When you do not reply quickly, the other individual could get frustrated and just decide not to deal with you.
- Do not be a jerk
How to Trade Locally Local Room
If someone is playing Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl on their Nintendo Switch and they are near you, you could trade with them. However, keep in mind that you could only use trading functions after you have defeated the gym leader Roark.
- Go to Pokemon Center
- Go up the stairs found on the left side
- Talk to the girl who is at the middle counter
- Select Yes if you wish to trade with random people. If you wish to join a group on the other hand, select yes with a link code or yes with my group if you have created a previously created group.
- Save your game
- Select yes
- If you are trading with a friend, enter an eight digit link code. We recommend not to use a simple eight digit like 12345678.
- Once you are in a union room, press y
- Select call
- Select trade
- Interact with a player or wait for another player to interact with you
- If you will be asked to trade, select yes
- Once you are in the trading screen
- Select the Pokemon you would wish to trade
- Select trade it
- You will then see the pokemon which the other person would want to trade. If you agree, select Trade it
- Once both of you agree, trading will begin.
- If you do not agree, select cancel
- Select a different Pokemon to trade until both of you agree.
- When you would wish to leave, go to the yellow circle found at the bottom of the screen
- Select yes
- If you wish to have more people to trade with, head to the Global Room after talking to the three girls behind the counter.
How to Trade Online Global Room
- Go to the Pokemon Center
- Go down the stairs found on the right side
- Talk to the woman at the middle counter
- Select yes if you wish to trade with random people online
- If you wish to join a group select yes with a link code
- If you wish to join with a group you have previously created, select yes with my group
- Select yes to save your game
- Enter eight digit code if you are trading with your specific friends.
- You will be directed to the union room and once you are in it, press y button
- Select call
- Select trade
- Interact with a player
- You will be asked if you would want to trade, if you wish to trade, select yes.
- Select the Pokemon you would want to trade
- Select trade it
- If you like the Pokemon offered, select trade it again.
- If both of you agree, trading process will begin.
- If you do not want to trade, select cancel
- If you wish to leave, go to the yellow circle at the bottom of the screen
- Select yes
How to trade items?
Just give the item to a pokemon to hold and then initiate trading process. Trade the Pokemon to the person you would wish to trade. Keep in mind the the only items that your Pokemon is holding is the only one that could be traded this way. Also, keep in mind that you will not be able to get those items back.
How to trade at Global Wonder Station (GWS) Wonder Trade
- Go to Jubilife City
- Walk to the west
- Enter the Global wonder station building
- Talk to the person behind the counter
- Select Use GWS
- Select Yes
- Select trade
- Select the Pokemon that you are willing to trade
- Choose Select
- Choose a point located anywhere on the group
- Select trade
- You will be asked if you wish to save your progress
- Select Save
- If you wish to trade again, select yes. If not select no
- Select View Globe to view all the Pokemon you have received through trade in GWS
How to Transfer with Pokemon Home
This is a special service where players could transfer their catches to and from various switch games. Keep in mind, however, that, this does not work with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
