What does xFi Gateway Offline mean?

Before we go into details, we shall first try to understand xFi Gateway and what does it mean when it is online. This means that if your xFi Gateway is offline, you will not be able to get a solid connection to the internet even on your Home Network. Hence, if you wish to be able to go online, you will have to solve this issue.

There is one general way to solve this issue and that is through restarting Gateway. Then, visit xfinity.com/myxfi and login with your credentials and go to troubleshooting and select restart. Another way is by going to connection problems on Xfinity app and select Restart Gateway and you are good to go.

How to Fix xFi Gateway Offline?

One way to solve and fix xFi gateway offline is by restarting it. By restarting your xFi Gateway, you will be able to clear any lagging processes which could cause issues to your network. It could bring your device into a clean slate.

However, take in mind that when you restart your xFi Gateway, you will not be able to use your home network until the restarting procedure is completed. This means you will not be able to make phone calls and even emergency phone calls. Moreover, you will also not be able to access your camera and Smart Home accessories.

Method 1 – Restart xFi Gateway through Website

  • Go to xfinity.com/myxfi
  • Log into your Xfinity credentials
  • Select Troubleshooting
  • Select restart
  • You could also go to xfinity.com/myaccount
  • Log into your Xfinity credentials
  • Select Manage Internet
  • Restart Modem
  • Select Start Troubleshooting

Method 2 – Restart xFi Gateway through the Xfinity App

  • Through the use of your smartphone, download Xfinity app from Google Play or App Store
  • Log into Xfinity with your credentials
  • Go to Connection problems
  • Select Restart Gateway
  • You could also log into your Xfinity My Account app
  • Enter your Xfinity credentials
  • Select Internet panel
  • Select gateway on the list of devices
  • Select restart this device

Method 3 – Manually restart your xFi Gateway

  • Turn off your Gateway by turning off the switch and unplug the power cable from the socket
  • Wait a few minutes
  • Replug the power cable back in
  • Turn on your xFi Gateway

Method 4 – Restart xFi Gateway through the Admin Tool

  • Open your web browser
  • Enter into the address bar to the head to the Xfinity Admin Tool
  • Sign in using credentials of xFi Gateway
  • The default credentials are : Username : admn Password: password
  • Go to troubleshooting
  • Select restart/restore gateway
