How to Play Online with Friends

A multiplayer option type of game which allows more than one participant could play in the same gaming environment at the same time and in Sons of the Forest, you will be provided with two options. You could host your own session or you could join a session which is hosted by one of your friends. If you wish to play this type of mode, of course, you will need to click on the multiplayer option found in the main menu.

If you wish to join one of your friends, you will have to ask him to send you an invite. This could be done by pressing left shift+ tab to go to steam overlay. Then, your friend will need to hover over your name and open the drop-down menu. Press the option to invite.

On the other hand, if you wish to host a session, all you need to do is to start a world and choose the type of world you would wish to go. Ensure that you select your preferred permissions. For example, if you wish to have the game with your friends only or would you like to open the game to public where anyone is allowed to join. Of course, it is best if you could define the number of players who could join your game.

Sons of the Forest Multiplayer Limit

The standard limit of number of players for Sons of the Forest is usually maximum of eight and a minimum of two. Though this is the case, these limits could be changed through the addition of mods.

One mod which you could use is the MultiplayerUnlimited Mod. This mod allows you to be able to configure your game. This means you could allow up to 20 players to join your game and be in your gaming world simultaneously.
