How to Fix Vizio TV Won’t Turn On

There have been some users that have reported that their Vizio TV sometimes won’t turn on. If you are one of them and has experienced the same or similar problem, do not worry as through this article, we shall provide you some ways and guidelines on how to solve this problem.

There are several reasons as to why your Vizio TV won’t turn on and there are also several ways as to solve it. One of the most popular ways to solve this is by unplugging your TV and wait for about 60 seconds and plug it back. This way, your TV will soft reset your TV and it should turn your TV’s power back on.

How to Fix Vizio TV Won’t Turn On

Method 1 – Unplug Vizio TV from wall

As mentioned above, though this method seem to be very simple and straightforward, it is one of the most effective method. The most important thing when doing this method is that you will have to wait for 60 seconds before you plug your TV back on. This step will make your TV do a soft reset and it will power your TV back on. This method usually solves about 80 percent of cases.

Method 2 – Remove batteries from Vizio remote

  • Ensure that both batteries of your remote are completely removed from the remote.
  • Hold down the power button on the remote for about 15 seconds. Ensure that you do this for 15 seconds
  • Put back the batteries in the remote and try to turn on the TV

Method 3 – Factory Reset Vizio TV

  • With your TV on, click Menu button
  • Select System opthe tion
  • Select Reset and Admin
  • Select Reset TV to Factory Defaults
  • Enter the default code 0000

Method 4 – Factory reset Vizio without remote

  • Look for the power button on your TV
  • With your TV turned on, press and hold the volume down and source button at the same time
  • Press and hold the input button for about 10 seconds
  • Reboot and reset process could take about a minute or so

Method 5 – Try a different power outlet

  • This method will assure you that your outlet is not working or is short or has a blown fuse.
  • Hence, we recommend that you try to plug your TV to a different power outlet

Method 6 – Power supply replacement

  • Move the power supply
  • Check if your TV’s standby light is on
  • If there is no light, this means your power board is defective
