How to Fix Roku TV Black Screen

If you own Roku TV and streaming stick, there could be a time that you could have experienced or might experience getting a black screen. Getting a black screen does not necessarily mean that your Roku TV suddenly turned off. In fact, if you experience black screen on your Roku TV, though you will not see any pictures or anything visual, you will still be able to hear some sound. This situation could be very frustrating and we understand how annoying this could be especially when you are in the mood of watching your favorite show. Do not worry as through this article, we shall provide you a guide on how to fix this error – Roku TV black screen.

Why is Roku showing black screen?

There are several reasons as to why Roku could be showing a black screen and some of the common reasons are: your streaming stick is not plugged properly or there is a temporary glitch on your Roku TV. Another reason is that your internet is not working and that the backlight of your Roku TV has an issue.

How to Fix Black Screen on TCL Roku TV?

Method 1 – Power cycle your Roku

  • Ensure that your TV is turned on
  • Press the volume up this way you could be sure that your TV is on.
  • Pull the plug of your TCL Roku TV from power socket.
  • Wait for about 30 to 60 seconds before plugging it back
  • Turn on your Roku TV and wait for the Roku dancing logo

Try to stream on your Roku TV and remember to ensure that the cables and wires are properly installed on your TV.

Method 2 – Restart your Roku TV using remote

Another method that you could try is restarting your TCL Roku TV. To do this, all you have to do is follow the steps below:

  • use the button combination of hitting home button five times, up once, rewind twice and fast forward twice.

Method 3 – Power cycle TCL Roku TV

  • Pull the plug of your Roku TV from your power source
  • Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds
  • Plug back your Roku TV

Method 4 – Tweak Fast Start Option

  • Press home button
  • Go to Settings
  • Select system
  • Select power option
  • Enable fast start and if you still are experiencing the error, disable fast start again.

Method 5 – Factory reset your TCL TV

  • Press home button
  • Go to settings
  • Select system option
  • Select advanced settings
  • Select factory reset option
  • Enter your pin to confirm
  • Once reset has be been done set up your Roku TV

Method 6 – Roku streaming stick

  • Hit the following keys – Home twice, press up, right, up, right, down three times, right, up, right then press okay

Method 7 – System update

  • Press home button on your Roku remote
  • Press up or down
  • Go to settings
  • Select system
  • Select system update
  • Select check now if there are any updates available. This will download and install automatically updates
