Method 1 – Refresh your Ring App Battery Status

Though you have been charging your Ring doorbell, you could see in your Ring app on your phone that your Ring doorbell’s battery is low. This information could provide you a false assumption that your battery is not charging. Hence, it is important that before you jump into a conclusion that your Ring doorbell is not charging, we highly suggest that you refresh the app and if the battery strength goes to its original condition then you are good to go.

Method 2 – Check your WiFi connection

In addition to checking if your WiFi connection is working, you will also have to ensure that your WiFi connection is also connected on your Ring doorbell device. Take in mind that Ring Doorbell relies on WiFi. Hence, if the app does not show your correct battery status, this method is highly recommended. Restart your router and move your device closer to your router and set up your connection on your Ring doorbell again.

Method 3 – Check the USB Charging Cable for your Doorbell is not damaged

This is another must do method. Check if the cable being used on your ring doorbell is not damaged and is working properly.

Method 4 – Ensure the Ring Charger is Working

Ring doorbell usually use a 2.1A charger and it is sufficient to be able to charge your ring doorbell in about 5 to 6 hours. If your charger is a much older version, your doorbell would need more hours to fully and complete charging.

Method 5 – Check if the battery is damaged on your ring doorbell

Batteries life usually last for about 1.5 to 3 years. Of course this depends on how frequent you use your device. Also, take in mind, that batteries get in a bad situation when it is placed in a high temperature.

Method 6 – Check if your circuit breaker has tripped

If you are using a hardwire, you will have to check if your circuit breaker has tripped and if it has, this could be the reason as to why your ring doorbell is not charging.
