How to Fix AT&T Visual Voicemail not Working Errors

There are times when you are busy, there is a possibility that you will not be able to answer your phone. There are also times when you are on a call and someone calls you at the same time, you would also not be able to connect with the person calling you. When these situations happen, it is wise and very convenient for you to have a setting on your phone that is pre-configured for you to have a voice greeting or message to your caller. However, if you get an error and do not know what to do, just follow the steps below.

  • Ensure that your internet network settings or your cellular data is on. Your phone should be active and is not put on airplane mode.
  • Reset your AT&T visual voicemail password
  • Ensure that your visual voicemail is included in your phone plan
  • Reset your network settings to default
  • Delete AT&T voicemail account and reinstall AT&T vmm app on your phone

Method 1 – Check for wireless network strength

  • Ensure that you have active internet connection
  • Also, ensure that your are not on a DND or airplane mode
  • Reset your network settings to default factory settings by going to settings on your phone, select general, select reset and tap on reset network settings.

Method 2 – Change your AT&T voicemail access password

  • Go to AT&T account wireless connections
  • Select devices and accessories
  • Select your device
  • Select the administrator of your device
  • Select voicemail password change
  • Follow the instructions of AT&T
  • Change your voicemail password
  • Confirm your voicemail password

You could also go to AT&T account overview -> My wireless -> My devices & add-ons-> choose your device -> manage my device -> device options & settings -> reset voicemail password.

Method 3 – set up your visual voicemail AT&T account

  • Go to AT&T account wireless connections
  • Select create new visual voicemail option
  • Enter your phone number
  • Enter your password
  • Confirm your phone number and password
  • Add a voice message

Method 4 – activate call forwarding to visual voicemail

  • Go to your AT&T account settings
  • Select advanced options
  • Verify call forwarding is activated
  • Turn on and click apply changes now

If your AT&T voicemail service is not available

  • Try to stable your cellular network signal coverage
  • Have account in voicemail
  • Have positive balance for you to be able to call the service
  • Ensure that your SIM card is not suspended by your phone carrier

How to verify if you have good wireless network coverage

  • Turn off your mobile phone for about 20 seconds
  • Turn on your phone again
  • Call 611. This will test your phone if it has good wireless network coverage.
