How to Change Date & Time on Chromebook Manually

Date and Time is one of the most important settings that your computer and browser has. It is as essential as your display settings and other parameters. Though that is the case, you will have to keep in mind that your display of time and date in your system tray is different with your OS. We know this could be very confusing, but, do not worry as through this article, we shall provide you a guide on how you could change the time and show the date on your Chromebook.

Changing Date and Time on Chromebook Manually

Chromebook usually has the ability to automatically detect your timezone and set it when you connect to the internet. In fact, clock settings depend on your device’s geo-location. Though this is the case, keep in mind that when you are traveling, your device might not exactly know your location and if this happens, you will have to manually change the date and time yourself. Do not worry as this is very possible. All you have to do is follow the steps below:

Sign into Chromebook
On the bottom right area, click on the time
Select settings
Go to the Menu
Select Advanced. This could be found on the left pane.
On the advanced section, select Date and Time
Once a menu opens on the right pane, look for the option Time Zone
Click on the arrow beside it
Click option – choose from list
Select right time zone and get the right time and date
Select option according to your preference if you wish to use 24-hour clock or not. Keep in mind that Chrome, by default uses the standard AM/PM clock.

Once you are done with following the steps above, you will notice that your clock will change the date and time including your lock screen. It will also fix the incorrect time of your Chrome browser.

If you are using VPN, allow your Chromebook to use WiFi or data networks to find date and time and follow the steps provided above but select set automatically instead choose from list option. This will ensure that your Chromebook will use your IP address or near network to detect your location.
