Could you imagine playing a game which allows your characters to have romantic relationships? You no longer have to imagine as there is a game which allows this to happen. This game is called Fire Emblem Engage. Though this is the case, keep in mind, however, that not all characters could be paired for romance due to several reasons. For example, your character is related to the protagonist Alear or you and or your character is a minor or you are part of the previous Fire Emblem game.

The game, Fire Emblem Engage is a combat type of game. However, it is a game which also encourages interaction such as friendship and romance. Of course, just like in real life, there are some limitations as to who your character could have romantic relationships with. In addition to that, may we warn you in advance that in this game, marriage is not an option.

Though marriage is not possible in this game, you could still build platonic and friendship relationships with certain characters. In fact, having and maintaining strong and good friendships is advantageous especially during combat.

How to Unlock Romance Option

Unfortunately, having a romantic relationship in this game is not as easy as just going around and confessing feelings to any character you wish to. Yes, this game is similar to real life. You would need to give effort to build up relationships no matter if it is friendship or romantic. For you to reach a romantic option with other characters, you would need to obtain the pact ring and reach S rank support.

Obtaining the Pact Ring

For you to be able to get the Pact Ring, you must follow the steps provided below:

• Clear a battle in Lythos during the Paralogue chapter called the connector. This would be available to you after completing the Chapter 23.
• Paralogue chapter is optional. However, if you wish to change your character’s relationship status, you would need to go through the mentioned chapter.
• Once you complete the battle quest in Paralogue chapter, you would then receive the Pact Ring which is a blue gem ring.
• The description of the Pact ring states, you have reached support level A with an ally, you can give that Ally the Pact Ring to strengthen your bond even further.
• Go to Somniel and go to your room. This will allow you to access the Pact Ring. Get it from the Momento Drawer.
• Select the character you would want to strengthen your bond with. Keep in mind that you could only have one character could reach the S-rank support with you.

The pact ring is a very important and essential item if you wish to have a romantic relationship with other characters in the game. However, remember, you will have to choose your partner wisely.

Reaching S-Rank Support

For you to be able to increase your support level with your allies from C to B and B to A, you would need to take several steps in order for you to be able to reach the S-Rank. The S-Rank is a level which would allow you to have relationship which is more than companionship and this could only happen when you give the Pact ring to the character you wish to have romantic relationship with.

• Support Progression – At C-Rank support is where you would initially be at the beginning of the game. Do not worry as you could progress to B-Rank and eventually to A-Rank with your chosen ally.
• Using the Pact Ring – as mentioned earlier, for you to be able to increase or level up your relationship to S-Rank, you would need to give your pact ring to your chosen ally. This would trigger a cutscene which involves cheesy support conversation which would lead to deeper connection.
• Accessing Special Entries – After you have given your pact ring and have reached the S-Rank, you would be able to find a special entry which is related to your alley on their notebook. This notebook entry could be found on your menu.
• Boosting Support Level – If you are not at A-Rank support with an ally when you have obtained the Pact Ring, do not worry as you could accelerate your progress by the following tasks:
  • Engage in battles together with your ally. You would need to fight side-by-side.
  • Purchase gifts for them from the flea market. Keep in mind that when you are purchasing gifts, ensure that you take into account the favorites of your ally. This could be found on their notebook.
  • Spend time talking and dining together in Somniel.

For you to be able to give the Pact Ring, you must remember that you will need to be A-Rank. This means, you would need to exert effort to bond with your ally. In short, you would need to ensure that you would have time to deepen your bond to increase your potential to develop romantic feelings and relationship.

All Romance Option Characters

Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, not all characters are allowed to have a romantic relationship with your character. In this section of this article, you would find which characters are available for more than platonic relationships and whom you could invest your time with.

Male Characters for Romance Options

No matter if you are playing the role of a male Alear or a female Alear, you would be able to get romantic aspect of the game except for Pandreo who is on the straight list.

However, your relationship would remain platonic.
