Yellowstone is a series that was created by both Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan. It has been launched since 2018 and had gain a lot of viewers. In fact, in February of 2021, due to the show’s success, they were able to get a deal with Paramount to create a new Yellowstone show and this included the prequel- 1883. The good news to this question is that yes, 1883 will be having another season. However, it is not as simple as it seems. 1883 is actually followed by 1923 which is a sequel series but also at the same time its plot is before the events of Yellowstone.
The 2nd season would also be shown on through 1883: The Bass Reeves Story which is a chronicle to the legendary lawman. In addition to that, Yellowstone will also have a spinoff which is titled 6666 which is a story that would involve the Four Sixes Ranch in West Texas.
1923 was released just last December 18th of 2022 and its other episodes in 2023. 1883: The Bass Reeves Story on the other hand, sadly, does not have any official release date yet. Though this is the case, Paramount has released a statement that the “next chapter” of 1883 will be released later in 2023.
Unfortunately, as there is no release date yet for 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, there isn’t a trailer for it either. However, there has been two trailers that were released for 1923.
The first trailer provides you a peak of the cast of the sequel’s prequel. This includes Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. The second trailer on the other hand shows the tensions of the range war. It also show some of the cast including Timothy Dalton and Robert Patrick.
1883: The Bass Reeves Story comes with a line – “Known as the greatest frontier hero in American history. It has been said that it actually is the inspiration of The Lone Ranger, Reeves which plot is in the post-reconstruction era where over 3000 dangerous criminals have been captured.
1923 on the other hand is about the new generation of the Dutton family. It’s plot is in the early twentieth century where pandemic, drought, end of prohibition and the Great Depression all was happening.
