It is possible to modify the default 15-minute interval for password requests on the App Store and iTunes Store. You can change the settings to make sure that the password is requested whenever a purchase is attempted. This option will be handy in case you have entered the password to buy an app and leave your device untended, which would give kids the chance to make a purchase on their own. Here are the steps that you can follow to enable App Store and ITunes password request before every purchase:
- Open the Settings app on the iPad or iPhone
- Select General
- Select Restrictions
- If restrictions are not enabled, tap on Enable Restrictions. If they are already in place, you can move forward to step 6
- Set up a passcode that is only known by you. Avoid using the same passcode that works for Lock screen as it is likely that your kids know it.
- Under Allowed Content, select the Require Password option.
- Select Immediately
Setting the password requirements to “Immediately” will ensure that access to your credit card is not possible without a password and it means that you won’t need to block access to the App Store or to ITunes completely.
